An Australian reality show has been slammed over an on-set thrush outbreak.
On Saturday, The Daily Telegraph reported that contestants on a “dating show” were battling yeast infections, making romantic scenes difficult.
The thrush outbreak followed a gastrointestinal scourge among the cast, with both conditions making filming a challenge.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that representatives from Channel Nine, Seven and Ten denied the outbreaks took place on the sets of Love Island, Beauty and The Geek, Heartbreak Island or The Real Love Boat.
It is not known which show was affected by the conditions, but the newspaper claims that “a large number of cast and crew…have contracted thrush on-site in recent weeks”.
The report goes on to claim that “tensions are said to have flared up” after participants were told to abstain from alcohol while they were being treated for the ailments.

Thrush is a very common infection caused when a yeast called Candida albicans, which normally lives in manageable amounts in the body, overgrows in the vagina.
Symptoms include severe itching, thick discharge, and redness and soreness.
Treatments include a choice of anti-yeast pessaries or creams that can be purchased over the counter.
