The award-winning gin maker has shared his top tips and tricks when it comes to making a classic martini cocktail at home.

Tim Boast from Adelaide won the big prize at the World Gin Awards, taking home the title of world’s best distiller, and his Triple Juniper gin was named the world’s best London dry gin.

He says that the classic cocktail is traditionally made with gin or vodka, and a little vermouth, a strong wine, is added to the drink, along with orange bitters.

When it comes to choosing the alcohol content, Tim says vodka lends a neutral body to a cocktail, while gin can enhance the botanicals and flavor.

“If you’re new to martinis, ordering wet is an affordable way to get started,” Tim wrote.
