Popular bachatero Blas Durán (El Peluche) passed away this morning after years of health problems.
Blas, became very popular in the 80’s and partly in the 90’s with his bachata group Blas Durán and his stuffed animals.
Among the songs he popularized are: “You’re Worth Nothing”, “La Arepa”, “Advice for Women”, “The Neighbor’s Rabbit”.
Durán was born on September 3, 1949 in Las Colmenas, part of the municipality of Nagua, in the province of María Trinidad Sánchez. He is the youngest and only son of Emiliano Durán and Ana Rita Paredes’ eight children.
