I would say today is going to be a hell of a day. I’m saying this because since the first promo season, it’s been accepted for a long time that certain things happened this season, and there was apparently no room for discussion. It was just blindly accepted that what they showed us in the first preview is what happened and that’s it. I mean, at first glance it seems logical. This show gives you something in the preview, you will analyze it until your eyes bleed and draw your own conclusions. However, this show isn’t dumb enough to give out its ending in the first episode. While season previews may reveal locations, dates, people, where people are on dates, confrontations, etc., they may not necessarily reveal storylines. And in terms of this season’s trailer, it seems to have given away a major plot point that was generally accepted throughout the season, including by me, until 2 weeks ago. I even mentioned it during the opening on my podcast with Rob Chesternino. And we all know what that assumption was: Susie rules herself out in Final 3 because we have footage from the Icelandic rose ceremony where Clayton seemingly only talks to Gabby and Rachel says the line, “I was in love with her, and I was in love with each of you, and I was also close to both of you. That doesn’t happen.

The details of what’s going on with Susie, I guess we won’t see branching until next Monday’s episode because I’m pretty sure we won’t even get to that infamous final three rose ceremony tonight. We’ll set up date nights (Rachel first, then Gabby, then Susie), and on Susie’s night, this conversation will kick things off:

So we clearly saw from the promo that Suzy was mad about this conversation, we saw clips of her getting up to leave, we saw Clayton arguing with the producers about it, yada yada yada. You have already seen it 100 times. And so ended this conversation with Susie. I told you last week that I found out what happened in Iceland, but wanted to wait until today in the hope of getting a little more clarity on what happened before. Well, I didn’t get those things, so I just have to give you what I know, and then we’ll talk about what happened before that, because you’re going to have questions. Of course I know. The reason I know why Susie didn’t eliminate herself in Final 3 is because:

Susie is persuaded to stay and at the final rose ceremony she declines Clayton’s offer and Clayton leaves Iceland alone.

That’s why I tweeted yesterday that the story is about to change. For several reasons: 1) All anyone has been talking about all season is Rachel and somehow this season revolves around her, her relationship with Clayton, etc. Super-reliable IG accounts that never messed anything up in their lives, officially reported on Clayton. was with Rachel. I have no idea why they reported it, I have no idea where that Rachel ending came from, and in the whole season I was never told that Rachel had anything to do with the ending (except for the first month or so, when I heard every name without evidence), so yes, it’s funny to laugh. It wasn’t there then and it isn’t now. I’m sorry. 2) Susie not only didn’t get eliminated from Final 3, but she does something we’ve never seen in the show’s 45 previous seasons: she turns down the protagonists’ offer. So yes, I would say that the narrative around this season will now change in the future as it will be the new main topic of discussion that everyone will be discussing.

Now let’s move on to some of your questions that I know you’ll have about this ending and how it fits into the big picture. I don’t have an answer for most of them, but I’ll try to explain for you. First, I saw this interview Clayton did it during a WTA taping, and that answer to “Are you happy with the way things are now?” was quite revealing in light of what we know now:

“I don’t think anyone expected it to end the way it did, including me, and I didn’t want it to be like that. There were a lot of things that I just never thought would happen the way they did. So everyone will be a little surprised. I wish it could go in any other direction, but it went exactly the direction it went. After all, I had to react accordingly.”

I would say that this answer speaks eloquently about the fact that things did not work out for him in Iceland, and in the end he left the country happily ever after.

Two weeks ago, I reported four things I felt confident about:

-It was not a traditional ending – check
– He’s not with Rachel – check
– There was no final in Iceland – we’ll get to that in a second
– He hasn’t had a Happy Couple holiday since filming ended – let’s discuss

I was told multiple times yesterday that Reddit found that AirBNB’s Clayton had been taking photos over the past couple of months. Here’s all I know: two weeks ago I was told that Susie had turned down Clayton’s offer and that he left Iceland alone. And he was also told within the last 3 months after filming ended that he was not married. I just didn’t know what happened at the end until 2 weekends ago. So if he saw someone on the post-show, that’s news to me. I’ll stick to my sources on this one. I don’t believe he’s had Happy Couple weekend since the show ended because he was single.

Susie’s rejection of his proposal at the end was not “fuck you” from what I heard. Obviously I wasn’t there, so I have no idea what was said or exactly how it happened. Was she waiting for him to literally get down on one knee to reject him? This is what I heard. But more in an “I can’t do it” sort of way than anything edgy or controversial. But we’ll have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Which begs the question, “Where are Clayton and Susie now?” So, although I said two weeks ago that there was no final decision in Iceland, it is possible that this part may be wrong. Susie, rejecting his proposal, seems like there was a final cut in Iceland, but there may not be a final cut in general. But nothing I’ve been told recently leads me to believe Clayton isn’t alone. I would have a hard time believing that she turned down his offer, but then she changed her mind, and they’ve been dating for Happy Couple Weekend ever since. This would be news to me. And as for Gabby and Rachel, again, I was told they weren’t in the finals, and he wasn’t trying to date either of them after the show. If anything happens after performing with women, it’s Susie, but I don’t see it and I’ve never been told about it.
