The Bachelors’ new leading man, Jed McIntosh, bears an uncanny resemblance to rocker Machine Gun Kelly.

Jed, who will star in the new series, has the same bleached hair, slim build, heavily tattooed skin and edgy emo look that MGK, real name Colson Baker, is known for.

On Tuesday, the 25-year-old hit back at online trolls who called him a “cheap impersonation” of the US singer and said he didn’t find the comments offensive.

Speaking to TV Week, Jed said: “I love Machine Gun Kelly, I’ve met him before and he’s a really nice guy.”

“I think it’s a compliment. It’s definitely not offensive to me, but yeah, we’re two completely different people.

His co-star Felix Von Hofe also got involved in the trolling, saying he was also mocked when Warner Bros. announced he would be appearing on the dating show.

“Sometimes I’m called the ‘ALDI version of Chris Evans,’ if anyone does [the public] want to run with it,” Felix, 27, told the publication.

“I’ve seen people on social media calling Thomas a ‘better looking version of Jason Sudeikis,'” he then laughed.

The remastered series promises to be filled with drama, betrayal and, of course, romance – with two suitors getting on one knee to propose to their chosen one.

Chron Australia can reveal that Channel 10 has decided to take inspiration from the US version of the series and introduce the ‘Bachelor Pad’.

All three men can now invite the contestants back to their penthouse at Q1 Resort on the Gold Coast.

This is where participants go when they want to have a secret tryst. There’s a huge bed, a jacuzzi, and a few sex toys to add some excitement.

The Bachelors premieres on Channel 10 on January 9th at 7.30pm
