If it seems like every streaming service has received a price increase this year, that’s probably because most of them have received a price increase. Netflix, Apple TV Plus, Discovery Plus and Disney Plus are just a few recent examples, although there are still ways to survive the price increases. After all, Black Friday brings with it all sorts of deals, including ways to save on your monthly streaming bill.
In fact, some streaming services are offering deals that offset their recent price increases – at least temporarily. Paramount Plus, for example, might have increased the price of its cheapest plan to $5.99 per month, but currently the price starts at just $1.99. Even better, both new and returning subscribers are eligible for the deal, which is a real rarity when it comes to streaming deals.
However, Paramount Plus is just one of many services offering discounts ahead of Black Friday. From Hulu to Max, we’ve rounded up the best streaming options available.
Hulu
Now you can sign up for one year of Hulu’s ad-supported tier for $11.88, which is 99 cents per month, until November 28th at 11:59 p.m. PT. The subscription gives you access to over a thousand movies and shows including Futurama, The Bear, The Handmaid’s Tale and Abbott Elementary.
You can sign up for 12 months of the ad-supported Hulu plan for just 99 cents per month through November 28th at 11:59 p.m. PT. That’s essentially the equivalent of a year of Hulu for $11.88, saving you about $68 on an otherwise $79.99 plan – or $85 if you pay the $7.99 monthly fee Pay US dollars. Hulu also has an additional deal on the Starz add-on that lets you pay 99 cents per month instead of $9.99 for six months, saving you $54. Both new and returning subscribers who canceled their Hulu subscription at least a month ago can take advantage of the offer, as can existing individual subscribers to Disney Plus and ESPN Plus.
The ad-supported plan grants access to the same catalog of TV shows and movies as the ad-free plan, including upcoming series like Sand Land and Marvel’s Echo and existing hits like Futurama and The Bear. However, the basic tier doesn’t let you download content for offline viewing, and multiple people can’t stream at the same time.
Max
Max is offering new and returning customers a six-month subscription to its ad-supported plan for $2.99 per month, up from $9.99 per month, through November 27th. The basic plan offers access to the same programming as the more expensive plans, including shows like “The Last of Us” and movies like “Barbie.”
Max is currently offering new and returning subscribers a six-month subscription to its ad-supported plan for $2.99 per month through November 27th. The plan typically costs $9.99 per month, meaning you’ll save $42 over the course of six months.
The ad-supported plan lets you stream a range of popular shows and movies, including The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, Blue Beetle and Barbie (when released). Additionally, HBO is offering the B/R Sports add-on for a limited time, so you can also watch over 300 live games, including NBA, NHL, and MLB games.
However, since this is the ad-supported tier and not one of the Premium Max plans, there are some trade-offs to consider. Only two people can stream at a time, and you can’t download content for offline viewing or streaming in 4K UHD.
Paramount Plus
New and returning subscribers can get three months of the ad-supported Paramount Plus Essential plan for $1.98 per month instead of $5.99 or three months of Paramount Plus with Showtime for $3.96 per month instead of $11.99. To benefit from both offers, simply use the promotional code BLACK FRIDAY before December 4th.
Both new and returning subscribers can get the ad-supported Paramount Plus Essential plan for three months for $1.98 per month instead of $5.99, a savings of $12. Alternatively, you can save $24 when you sign up for three months Paramount Plus with Showtime plan for $3.96 per month instead of $11.99. However, to get any of the offers you need to use the promo code BLACK FRIDAY before December 4th.
Both plans provide access to thousands of movies and shows, including Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and Yellowstone spin-offs like 1883 and 1923. You can also watch live news on CBS and NFL on CBS ( including) watch Super Bowl LVII) and UEFA Champions League games. The Showtime plan also offers access to content like Billions and The Chi, as well as live TV with CBS and college football. It is also mostly ad-free and allows you to download content for offline viewing.
peacock
Peacock provides access to next-day programming from NBC and Bravo, as well as live sports like Sunday Night Football and WWE, movies like Jurassic World: Dominion, shows like The Continental, and more.
Sling TV
Sling TV is a live TV streaming service with live and on-demand TV channels such as CNN, Fox, NBC, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network and more.
If you’re more interested in live TV services, Sling is currently giving you 50% off the first month of a plan as a new subscriber. Therefore, you can subscribe to Sling Orange for $20 per month, Sling Blue for $22.50 per month, or both packages for $30 per month instead of $60. Regardless of which package you choose, Sling also includes a free Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite.
All Sling TV plans offer live and on-demand channels, including everything from CNN to the History Channel. However, the Sling Orange plan is more sports-focused and offers access to ESPN channels as well as the Disney Channel. Sling Blue now offers other news and entertainment channels such as Fox News, MSNBC, E!, Discovery, Bravo and local NBC or Fox affiliates. Plus, you can stream content on up to three devices, while Sling Orange limits you to a single device.
