The Blackhawks lose the game and Connor Bedard

The Chicago Blackhawks were defeated by the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Friday night in a game marked by the loss of forward Connor Bedard.

In the first phase of this duel presented at the Prudential Center, the young prodigy was met at the entrance to the zone by Brendan Smith. The first pick in the last draft immediately retreated to the locker room and did not return to the game afterward. Currently, his team has not provided an update on his health status.

The game was decided in the third period when the Devils hit the goal three times. Simon Nemec initially equalized the game and Michael McLeod then gave the crowd favorite an early lead. The latter saved this attempt and Tyler Toffoli secured the victory in the empty net.

The Hawks' answer came from the bats of Jason Dickinson and Boris Katchouk.

With or without Bedard, the Blackhawks return to action on Sunday with a visit to the Calgary Flames at the United Center. The Devils return to the ice on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks.

The “Canes” don’t lose anymore

At Capital One Arena, the Carolina Hurricanes won their fifth straight season with a 6-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.

However, the “Caps” had a two-goal lead in the first third. It was Nic Dowd and Dylan Strome who hit the mark for the locals.

The Canes' comeback began with a goal by Brent Burns in the second half. The latter also hit the target in the third round, as did his teammates Andrei Svetchnikov, Seth Jarvis, Dmitri Orlov and Vasili Ponomaryov.

Sebastian Aho was involved in three winning victories.

The Hurricanes will look to continue their winning streak on Saturday against the St. Louis Blues. The Capitals, for their part, host the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.
