At their group meeting, the Conservatives are preparing to resume parliamentary work after the holiday break.

Inspired by the formula of “common sense,” Pierre Poilievre wants to abolish the carbon tax, “build housing, balance the budget and put an end to crime,” he said on the social network X.

Cheered on by his troops, the leader of the official opposition, who enjoys a comfortable lead in the polls, attacked his opponents.

The Bloc Québécois was sharply criticized in Poilievre's speech, accusing the party of supporting the Liberal Party of Canada.

“The bloc supports 100% of Justin Trudeau’s economic policies: spending, raising taxes, funding bureaucrats [et] Policies that prevent natural resource projects. The block supports all of this! Only the Conservative Party, a party of common sense, offers an alternative,” he argued.

Mr. Poilievre listed his party's priorities, placing particular emphasis on crime “which we have never seen in our history.”

The latter accuses Justin Trudeau of being responsible for this increase and claims that federal release laws are not strict enough.
