Producer Julian Cress has confirmed that season 20 of The Block Australia will take place on Phillip Island.
The location for the next series of the renovation show has been uncertain since producers were forced to cancel their planned renovations in Daylesford.
Now the new luxury location has been secured and next year’s contestants are set to film at a resort on Phillip Island, TV Tonight reported.
“The mayor of Phillip Island recently posted that we were taking the show there.” “I’m as excited as he is,” Julian told the online publication.
“We had obviously previously planned our location for Daylesford, but that fell through.” “We were very lucky to be able to find a great location on Phillip Island.”

He continued: “From what I’ve seen so far, the feedback from the audience and the fans who have heard we’re going there, they’re all incredibly excited.”
Julian went on to say that the place is very special to him as he had many fond memories vacationing there during his childhood, and he hopes the fans will feel the same way.
In September there were rumors that The Block was to be filmed on Phillip Island after it was discovered that Nine Network had wasted millions on a resort there.

According to a report in the Herald Sun, a company owned by Channel Nine purchased Island Cove Villas for a whopping $9.5 million.
Located two and a half hours from Melbourne, the property features nine homes, a communal pool, barbecue pavilion, tennis court and children’s playground.
It’s just a short drive from the island’s penguin parade and is described as “stunning from the moment you walk in.”

A new group of fools are tasked with transforming the resort after plans for a season at Daylesford were scrapped.
The series was forced to pull the plug on its highly anticipated 20th series in the picturesque country town of Daylesford after production was forced out by locals.
“We’ve had so many successful series in so many different places but we don’t go where we’re not welcome,” a production insider told the Herald Sun.
“Especially for Season 20 of The Block, which is so important.”
