The Block: The 8 participants in the ‘Golden Rules’ MUST follow Tanya and Vito Guccione’s wild cheating scandal

From obtaining unfair discounts on expensive decorations to getting retailers to do extra work, The Block is no stranger to scam scandals.

Though rarely discussed on camera, there are eight golden rules that all fools must follow during filming.

Rule number one, according to Domain, requires contestants to make their own painting.

This came after the blockheads Josh and Luke Packham scandal in season 17 in 2021.

The twin brothers angered fans and other contestants when they enlisted a contractor to help with the paint job.

The second rule states that contestants must work on time, which means they will not have a head start on any part of the construction work.

Tanya Guccione and husband Vito wowed viewers into the 2021 season after it was revealed they took a photo of the production, which was usually kept secret from the contestants.

This rule is easier to enforce now that the current season’s contestants have been presented with the schedule – a weekly guide to which rooms the team will be renovating.

The third rule states that participants must not do “noisy work” between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Painting, plastering and other low-noise work is permitted.

The fourth requirement requires all participants to do all of their interior design work themselves.

Meanwhile, participants are not allowed to get 50 percent discount on merchandise.

This rule was introduced after best friends Omar and Oz spent exorbitant sums on their home in the show’s 2022 season.
