The search for little Taylen Mosley, 2 years old, ended this Friday (31/03) after police in the city of St. Petersburg, Florida state in the United States found the boy’s corpse in the mouth of an alligator. This Saturday (January 4th), Pinellas County Police Chief Anthony Holloway provided further details on the case.

According to Holloway, Taylen’s mother, Pashun Jeffery, 20, was found dead Thursday (03/30) at the apartment where she lived with the child in the city of St. Louis. Petersburg. The woman was the victim of multiple stab wounds. Police arrested Thomas Mosley Taylen’s father on Friday. The man is accused of murdering his wife and child.

Taylen’s body was found late Friday in Dell Holmes Park about 10 miles from Pashun’s home near Lake Maggiore. According to Holloway, police officers in the area were notified of an “object” in an alligator’s mouth. However, upon arriving at the scene, police found the boy’s body. The animal was shot by one of the investigators on the case.

Police said it was still unclear if the boy was killed and then ended up in the alligator’s mouth or if he was attacked while still alive. The exact cause of Taylen’s death could only be determined through forensics.

Taylen’s disappearance caused a stir in the state. In addition to local security forces, the searches also included the FBI (the US Federal Police) and aircraft such as drones.

Jail

Thomas Mosley, the boy’s father, was arrested after being taken to hospital with cuts to his hands. According to Holloway, the man did not speak to police and merely asked for the assistance of a lawyer.
