The Bolivian President delivers work in the department of Potosí

Among these, in the municipality of Chayanta, the expansion of the Mariscal Andrés de Santa Cruz teacher training school, a drinking water system and 50 social housing units should be highlighted.

Less than a week before the anniversary of his inauguration as President on November 8, 2019 and the 213th of the Libertarian Act of Potosí on the 10th of the current month, the President of Bolivia is traveling to different jurisdictions to carry out works of social benefit.

“We came to deliver several works. Today we deliver works worth 12 million 136 thousand Bolivians to Chayanta,” said the dignitary during a public event attended by the Minister of Education Edgar Pary; and for public works, Edgar Montaño.

Arce described that the expansion of the school represents an investment of more than 3.6 million bolivianos (more than half a million dollars), to which is added the delivery of 15 computer devices by the head of education.

The drinking water system, meanwhile, required spending of nearly three million bolivianos (about $430,000) and the construction of social housing about 5.6 million bolivianos ($800,000), it said.

The President emphasized that one of the priorities of the national government is to provide Bolivians, and in this case the residents of Chayanta, with adequate housing.

“We are coming with 50 houses and we will continue to build houses in this community,” he said. “The idea is to solve the housing problem in Bolivia and we are investing a lot of resources to build houses in different regions of the country.”

He stressed that another priority of the national government is education, which is why it is building modern infrastructures such as the Mariscal Andrés de Santa Cruz Higher School of Teachers.

In his speech, the Head of State committed to the construction of infrastructure for the educational units of San Cristóbal in Paracachi, Eduardo Abaroa in Entre Ríos Ucro and the Quinta Pampa boarding school in the Ayllu of Chayantaca.

The dignitary also announced that the national government will build the Yuyomallane drinking water system in the city of Llallagüita.

Arce also delivered a drinking water system and another for domestic gas networks in the municipality of Uncía this Friday. The latter project required an investment of 21 million bolivianos (three million dollars) to benefit 9,580 neighbors.

“We have come to realize a very important project here in the municipality of Uncia, a natural gas system – reported the head of state – with an investment of almost 21 million bolivianos, so that housewives no longer follow the jug cart.” ”

During Friday, the President also inaugurated a drinking water system in Jachiri community in the municipality of the same name.

In both cases, Arce emphasized that water supply to the population is a concern of the national government and a priority in the face of the global climate crisis.

He recalled that the country has suffered the effects of the La Niña and El Niño phenomena for three consecutive years, which is why the executive is considering the construction of dams and irrigation systems in Maraca, Uncía.

In this context, the construction of irrigation systems in Cuyo Pampoyu and in Huayllani Chico as well as another pump irrigation system in Sausau, in Uncía, is also planned.

“The government is committed to ensuring water supply through dams. Then will follow the irrigation programs that many communities are waiting for to ensure agricultural production in the communities,” explained Arce.
