The bones, found just over a week ago near Sept-Îles, are thought to be those of Samuel Gauthier, that father who has mysteriously disappeared since December.

His mother, Marie-Hélène Gauthier, confirmed to TVA Nouvelles that the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) shared the news with her on Tuesday.
Samuel Gauthier, 28, was last seen leaving a friend’s house in Port-Cartier on the north coast on the night of December 10/11.
In an interview with Le Journal last week, his wife Carolanne Dufour claimed that the possibility that the bones discovered were those of the man she loved “stuttered a lot of emotions”.
“We need a conclusion on all of this. Due to the forest fires of the last few weeks, we no longer believed in it,” she explained.
In her mind, it might have been the missing piece of a puzzle she’d been trying to piece together for months. And that, even if she had no proof that it was actually her spouse.
“We have a body, clothes, DNA. All this on a silver platter. It may get to those who did this!” she hoped.
When asked whether the human remains found were actually those of Samuel Gauthier, the SQ did not want to comment to the media for the time being.
