The Boston Strangler premiered last Friday (17th) to the delight of true crime lovers and is still available on Star+ for Brazilian audiences to watch. The production is a thriller based on the reallife investigation of the crimes of the socalled “Boston Strangler,” a ruthless serial killer who terrorized the city with the deaths of 13 women in the 1960s.

Actresses Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) and Carrie Coon (The Leftovers) stars in the feature film directed by Matt Ruskin (Crown Heights) and coedited by filmmaker Ridley Scott (Alien and Blade Runner franchises) was produced. Also part of the cast are Chris Cooper (American Beauty), Alessandro Nivola (Jurassic Park 3), David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad), Rory Cochrane (Young, Crazy and Rebel), Peter Gerety (The Listen), Robert John Burke (Double dose ), among others.

The action takes place at the time of real events. The film follows behavioral journalist Loretta McLaughlin (Knightley) as she discovers that there have been a number of strangulations of women in Boston. Focused on investigating cases, she is joined by reporter and friend Jean Cole (Coon), and the two begin to analyze clues leading to the possible perpetrator of the crimes.

The journalists’ investigations are met by the slowness of the police in locating the suspect and the lack of interest from the newspaper, where the two are working to cover the case and solve the crimes. The murders were committed between June 1962 and January 1964, involving a total of 13 women, including six elderly women and one teenager. The emotions of this amazing story will be shown at Star+, where the public will be amazed by the outcome.
