Finally, HBO moved and brought news about the series “The Last of Us”. The producers chose the actress to play Abby and young Kaitlyn Dever will be part of the show.
The news was shared this Tuesday (9). from HBO on the social network and on the official PlayStation Studio profile. Check it out below:
We're thrilled that Kaitlyn Dever will be joining HBO's The Last Of Us season 2 as Abby!
We can't wait to see their journey on TV.
The official character description has also been released: “A seasoned soldier whose blackandwhite view of the world is challenged as she seeks revenge for those she loves.”
Keitlyn Dever was previously rumored to be Abby's actress
According to Jeff Sneider's latest report, Keitlyn Dever is considered “one of the most talented actresses of her generation,” in which he speculates about the actress's arrival in the series “The Last of Us.”
Dever was born on December 21, 1996 in the USA and is 27 years old. She is an actress and producer and has had unforgettable performances as Amy in Fora de Série (2019), Marie Adler in Unbelievable (2019) and Jayden in the feature film Temporário 12 (2013).
In 2023, she gained widespread attention in the role of Brynn in Nobody Will Save You (2023) and according to Sneider's report, this performance was enough to attract the attention of the showrunners of HBO's The Last of Us:
In games, she has already appeared in a PlayStation exclusive as Cassie Drake, daughter of Nathan Drake's protagonist in Uncharted 4.
Apparently Craig Mazin managed to surprise people. The last time he spoke about Abby's choice of actress, he said this:
Look, Abby was the first role we wanted to tackle. We have a pretty positive track record of making big casting announcements and surprising people, and that will probably continue. People may disagree, but I think so far we've got it right, and the public seems to think we've got it right, and the Academy seems to think we've got it right too.
