The operation and management of the sites will be entrusted to American Premier Parks, whose portfolio already includes 13 different properties, including the Wet’n’Wild water parks in Toronto and Hawaii.

The transaction is valued at US$142 million, or CA179 million, in a financial press release issued by EPR Properties from its Kansas City headquarters.

Despite the change in ownership, Groupe Calypso-Valcartier will continue to be led by its current President and Chief Operating Officer, Sylvain Lauzon.

All jobs will be preserved and each park’s “different taste” will be presented as a key commercial argument in its specific market, the group said in a press release.

Founded in 1963 by Adrien Drouin as a winter sledding center in the Quebec City area, this family business has grown steadily and evolved into a four-season resort. In 2010 she opened the Calypso water park in the Ottawa region.

“Quebec is a very special market and we understand its ins and outs,” said Premier Parks President and General Manager Kieran Burke in the press release.

“We are committed to honoring the Drouin family’s legacy of not altering the essence of what was built here and is embraced by so many in Eastern Canada. We have great confidence in the current management teams and in Sylvain Lauzon’s leadership. »
