At the end of that evening at Evansville’s legendary Bosse Field, head coach Patrick Scalabrini’s team captured its second title in as many years at this independent circuit. This is also the ninth championship in Capitals history since their inception in 1999.
After winning the first two games of the finals in Quebec, each time with victories in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Capitales had previously suffered two losses in as many days in Evansville.
A happy decision
It was Scalabrini who helped welcome the Magic to Indiana and helped himself juggle his offensive lineup. Most notably, he moved Glaude from fifth to second in the offensive lineup.
Another Quebecer, Jonathan Lacroix, stood out with a two-run double to start the third inning.
