The Arizona Cardinals won twice Friday night; First on the gridiron and second on social media.
The league’s social media teams act as a window to the NFL franchise of your choice and also shine a light on Twitter and Instagram with hilarious content.
That’s where the Cardinals came in, using footage of a woman — believed to be Tiffany Gomas — who suffered a heart attack on an American Airlines flight last month.
The Arizona social media team showed Gomas screaming, “That shit back there isn’t real,” before panning to the back of the plane, where the Cards had included a video of Wilson practicing.
It pokes fun at Wilson, who was mercilessly taunted for allegedly training for four hours on the team’s flight to London while his team-mates slept – which included pulling up his knees in the aisle to aisle.
The Arizona Cardinals poked fun at Russell Wilson after their preseason win on Friday
Ravens All-Pro kicker Justin Tucker jokingly said his quarterback Lamar Jackson was “leading.” [the team] in high knees,” after Wilson told reporters last season that he performed the move in the aisles.
Footage used by Wilson was also copied by many on social media this offseason, including former Bronco and three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth.
“Look at me, look at me, look at me.” “Look at what I’m doing, I’m sliding, I’m doing push-ups with the soccer ball in hand,” he said on The Stinkin’ Truth podcast in June.
“I just think dude you played the worst football of your career.” “It wasn’t just pathetic, it was embarrassing.”
Back on Friday, Wilson had given the Broncos a 10-0 lead in a long performance before the Cardinals scored a touchdown with 0-02 to go and won 18-17 thanks to the subsequent two-point conversion.
Wilson completed 7/13 passes for 93 yards and also absorbed several big hits, including a sack from Dennis Gardeck.
