Charles Tisseyre co-hosted “Montreal Tonight” on Radio-Canada in 1986 with Marie-Claude Lavallée. In 1986, during the Challenger shuttle explosion live on television, he impressed his colleagues and superiors with blunt comments about the tragedy alongside Céline Galipeau.

At home in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts, mowing the lawn with her eldest son Nicolas, still a toddler at the time, and her niece Francesca. Charles and his wife Nevine had two sons. Much later he would confess that the time when his two young sons were home was the happiest time of his life.

Charles Tisseyre when he was finally entrusted with the show he dreamed of, Découverte, in 1992, while Pierre Maisonneuve left it to Enjeux. The young journalist, who was prefixed with the title “son of the famous presenter Michelle Tisseyre”, had gradually risen in the rankings despite dyslexia that forced him to work harder.

In 2003, 20 years ago, the reunion occurred during a show hosted by Gildor Roy; Jean-François Lépine, Charles Tisseyre and Richard Garneau. Together they already had more than 100 years of journalistic experience. That year, the space shuttle Colombia exploded over Texas, killing all seven crew members. An event that would stay with them forever.

In 2004, the presenter was nominated for the Gémeaux Awards Gala. He has received several awards throughout his career, most notably receiving two Artis Trophies, the Medal of Honor of the National Assembly of Quebec, and was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2018 for his commitment to the scientific popularization and defense of the news media.
