The 119th edition of the Martinican Carnival begins on Sunday 15 January 2023 in Fort-de-France with a frenzy of rhythm, color and choreography. Organized on the theme “Bonswè Zetwel, ovwé Soley”, the foyal parade with 23 foot groups and street orchestras intends to set fire to the surroundings of the savannah.

Street bands, foot groups and revelers gather in Fort de France on Sunday 15th January 2023 with the Foyal parade to celebrate Carnival. The Foyalaise City Carnival Mission wants to add a beautiful dimension to the party by appealing to everyone’s civic responsibility.

23 groups will stroll through the streets of Fort-de-France in colour. This tradition has existed for years.

Among the groups: Tanbou bô kannal celebrating its 50th anniversary, A sou yo, Otantik gerikan bass, Difè nan pay, Alliance972, La bomb, Pom pom c’chan, Gwanaval, Nou pa sav, Welélé band, Karnival all star, dynamic carnival, gwoup 231, konbit racine, 97 péyi, snapchat, neg gwo siwo, the bibas committee, ou za konnet, sa ki fet fet and Kassialatat of Guyana.

The start takes place in the corridor of the TCSP in Pointe-Simon, 2 laps are planned on the small circuit around the Savane.

The Foyalais Carnival is making a grand comeback with a wealth of events ranging from parades to entertainment, information sessions and conferences.

This 2023 edition will not escape the usual elections of queens and mini-queens. More than a month of celebrations leading audiences to Ash Wednesday.

This carnival will expand to the neighborhoods at night. Several parades are planned, including those of the Queens, the Bradjack Show and the Vaval d’or awards, which are given in the middle of Lent.
