The details of his murder shocked the island.

Choi’s head was found in a threestorey house in rural Tai Po District on Sunday, days after other body parts were found in the same spot some 27 km from where she was last found in the city of Kowloon.

Some parts had been cooked and were in a refrigerator.

A meat slicer and a chainsaw were also found at the scene.

Hong Kong Police told the media they believe Choi and her former inlaws have had many financial disputes involving “large sums of money”.

According to police, Alex Kwong was arrested on Saturday while attempting to leave town on a speedboat. His parents and older brother were arrested the day before.

Police also arrested a fifth suspect linked to Choi’s fatherinlaw on Sunday.

Choi had four children, two of them with Alex Kwong. Her other two children were the result of her union with Chris Tam, who she had been dating since 2016.
