A party celebrating the 94th anniversary of the Vai Vai Samba School, held in Vale do Appendixabaú, downtown São Paulo, had to be closed early after confusion occurred in the early hours of the morning at the entrance to the event this Saturday (28) .
Military police teams were called in and planned shows such as Negra Li and Nelson Triunfo and the Vai Vai drum performance were canceled. On social media, Negra Li, the school's sponsor, reported the confusion and complained the fact (read below).
According to military police, police officers were called around 11:50 p.m. to deal with excessive crowds during the event. There were reports locally of people not being able to access the entrance to the party, causing confusion.
Police officers were on site and dispersed the public after the intervention, the company reported. The event then stopped after the Racionais show around 2am.
The samba school released a clarification on social media.
“Today, during the celebrations of the 94th anniversary of VaiVai, just before the Racionais show, there was an invasion of the turnstiles and the security forces of the event were unable to contain the shows would be canceled. We are deeply sorry, but we are complying with the Prime Minister’s order and value everyone’s safety.”

Negra Li, who was scheduled to perform after the Racionais show, commented on the case.
“I couldn’t do my show. They started making their way into the crowd that didn't have tickets. I was in the locker room and saw them turn off the lights, turn off the generators, chaos. Unfortunately, it feels like I've gone back in time. It's a shame. I saw how much the Via Vai team mobilized to make this show possible.
“You managed to collect all these names for the 94th birthday party. I feel very sorry for you. It's a shame that this still happens. I'm not here to talk about who's to blame. It should be a nice party.” “And it stays that way, a wonderful evening until 5 a.m. Watch the Racionais shows and it was amazing. I wanted to go in later and didn't have time. Everything happened. I was very well prepared for my show,” he emphasized

Netizens commented on the Samba School's Instagram profile that there was no breakin by those who did not have tickets, but by people who had tickets and were not allowed entry.
“There was no invasion! People were prevented from entering even though they showed the QR code of the tickets! People paid R$170. The police didn’t let people in, they were aggressive,” wrote one netizen
“It is inhumane that we are left without the event, without warning and without a train, because as soon as the trains closed, the event ended. We were left on the street with no explanation,” another netizen wrote.
A TV Globo has contacted the company organizing the event and is waiting for the announcement.
