The CH is stunned by St. Louis

The Canadian had a difficult game on Sunday, losing 7-2 to the St. Louis Blues and seeing two of his defenders retreat to the locker room with serious injuries.

Since bad news never comes naturally, the CH officials announced that Martin St-Louis will have to be without striker Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, who was injured the day before, for four to six weeks.

The cases of defense attorneys Jordan Harris and Kaiden Guhle still need to be evaluated by Sainte-Flanelle's medical staff.

With Harris injured in his “upper body,” there is a possibility of a suspected concussion.

Early in the first period, Blues forward Samuel Blais missed a hard check on Harris, who was off balance behind Jake Allen's net.

Unfortunately, the young defender's head, back in the lineup on Sunday, absorbed much of the impact, trapped between the boards and his opponent's body.

Blais was chased from the game while Harris needed the help of two teammates to get off the ice on his own two feet.

Alongside Kaiden Guhle, he retreated to the locker room at the end of the third period with a grimace after receiving a not-so-serious hit from Marco Scandella.

The Habs defender is injured above the waist.

Never up to date

Although goalkeeper Jake Allen didn't have his best performance, the indiscipline also dropped against CH, while the Blues defense managed to contain the Montreal attackers well.

St. Louis scored three times on five power plays. The visitors to the Bell Center scored a total of three goals in the first third, one of them after just 25 seconds of play. Additionally, they hit Allen once in the second period and three times in the third period.

The Canadian, for his part, failed to use five minutes with a majority in the first third. However, Nick Suzuki managed to beat Jordan Binnington in the following seconds.

The other CH goalscorer was Joel Armia, who directed a shot from David Savard behind the opposing goalkeeper.

The Habs will be back in action on Tuesday when the Anaheim Ducks visit Montreal.
