It’s not just Ramsay who will end up in Montreal. The Canadiens also made Maxime Gauthier their new chief therapist.

The arrivals of Ramsay and Gauthier will serve to offset the departures of Donald Balmforth and Graham Rynbend, who have been sacked due to numerous injuries at the team over the past two years. The CH leads the NHL in its players’ missed games column for the past two seasons, with more than 600 games in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.

The end of a long chapter

Ramsay has an impressive track record. He worked for the Rangers, the Winnipeg Jets, but also internationally with the Canadian team.

The 58-year-old was part of the Rangers organization for 28 years. Originally from Toronto, Ramsay also worked in the Jets organization before moving to Manhattan. With Team Canada he took part in the Olympic Games in 2002, 2010 and 2014.

In the Gauthier case, he had worked as a private sector physiotherapist since 2000. As a sports medicine specialist and independent consultant, he has worked with many athletes, including several NHL players. He is from Chicoutimi.
