The Channel Seven reporter details his bizarre Taylor Swift obsession

Channel Seven reporter Tom Browne has revealed his odd obsession with pop megastar Taylor Swift – and it has nothing to do with her music.

Speaking to Triple M this week, the 41-year-old football reporter admitted he’s intrigued by the 33-year-old’s impressive fleet of private jets.

“She’s a fan of both very good and fairly complicated jets,” he explained.

“She’s got the Falcon 900, a French three-engine jet, and she’s got the personalized n898ts tail panel, with TS obviously representing Taylor Swift.”

When asked how he knows so much about Swift’s jets, Browne replied, ‘I’ve always followed her jets.’ She has great jets.’

“She used to have two or three, I think she might have sold one during the Corona crisis, but she still has a few,” he continued.

Browne then addressed the criticism the anti-hero hitmaker has faced after he was branded as the biggest celebrity polluter last year.

A study released around this time last year by British digital marketing firm Yard found Swift’s jet recorded the most emissions among a group of stars.

“She’s getting the criticism, a bit like Leonardo DiCaprio, that she claims to be environmentally conscious but is racking up the miles on the private jet,” Browne continued.

“But she has to [use them]she obviously can’t take Virgin or Qantas… She has tremendous safeguards.’

Taylor is bringing her sold-out The Eras tour Down Under next February and will make the most of her free time when she arrives in Australia for the first time since 2018.

The Love Story singer will reportedly spend her free time in Sydney visiting some famous Australian landmarks.

These include climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge, seeing the animals at Taronga Zoo, and a surfing lesson at Bondi Beach.

“Taylor is usually exhausted after her shows but since it’s taking so long to get to Australia she wants to make the most of it,” a source told Woman’s Day magazine.

According to the publication, Taylor will be staying in a rented mansion and is dying to do some shopping at Australian luxury clothing label Zimmerman.

The Pennsylvania native will perform seven concerts in Australia in February – three in Melbourne and four in Sydney.

By popular demand, Taylor last week announced a third Melbourne show at MCG on February 18 next year and a fourth Sydney concert at Accor Stadium on February 26.

The Grammy-winning star will become the first artist since Madonna to perform three consecutive concerts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground when she takes the stage next February and the first ever to play a fourth consecutive show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium .

The new performances complement the existing concerts in Melbourne on February 16th and 17th and the shows in Sydney on February 23rd, 24th and 25th.

All tickets for the shows were sold out last week.

Meanwhile, the pop star disappointed hundreds of thousands of Australian fans when she announced she would not be playing any shows in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide for next year.

A music industry insider revealed that there simply wasn’t enough time to play concerts in these cities.

“On big tours like this, the direction would come from the artist,” the insider told The West Australian.

“Taylor would have said, ‘I only have time for two cities.’ I don’t have time to travel across the country. It’s an instruction that comes from the artist.”

As Australia only schedules dates for two weeks, only two cities could be included in the itinerary.

Interestingly, although the population is much smaller than Japan, Australia has had more tour dates than Tokyo, a testament to Taylor’s popularity in the country.

Their promoters even stated that they could have held back-to-back dates in Australia over the course of a month, although that would not have been feasible for the entire duration of the tour.
