The children of two great Brazilian presenters will face each other on national television. João Guilherme Silva, son of Faustão, and João Augusto Liberato, son of Gugu, will compete next Sunday in the “Battle of Lip Sync” on Domingão com Huck, in which guests will pretend to sing famous songs.
The date of the already announced confrontation was announced last Sunday on the TV Globo program directed by Luciano Huck.
Before announcing the result of this week’s fight between Monique Alfaradique and Giovana Cordeiro, the presenter told the audience the names of the next fight.
“Do you like gossip? “Can I clap before the results?” he asked. “Do you know what the fight will be like next week? Next week, Gugu’s son João will face Faustão’s son João Guilherme.”
If João Guilherme is linked to the program through the legacy of his father, who ran Globo’s Sunday attraction until 2021, the program is not completely alien to João Augusto either. Gugu, his father, was originally chosen to lead Domingão. He was replaced by Faustão in 1989 when Silvio Santos went to Globo to ask Roberto Marinho for the release of his student.
Both children want to follow in their parents’ footsteps on television. Gugu’s son said on the show Altas Horas that he wanted to continue his father’s career, and João Silva won a show on tape, for which a pilot episode had already been recorded.
