A chilling picture has emerged showing Lucy Letby christening a newborn who died on the ward where the nurse carried out her rampage.

The photo – taken at the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2013 – shows Emily Morris lifting her baby son Alvin from a cot as Letby leans over to help.

The mother, from Deeside, Flintshire, said Letby told her the night before his death that Alvin’s condition was deteriorating and said it was almost as if she had implied she had done something.

Ms Morris, 35, is now calling for a reinvestigation into her son’s death after police concluded in 2018 there were no suspicious circumstances.

Both Ms Morris and Alvin’s stepfather Mark Lewis saw the photo for the first time yesterday after it was found on a CD in a memory box which they were unable to download.

After seeing the picture, which showed Letby touching Alvin’s blanket as his mother laid him down, the couple spoke about their horror.

Mr Lewis, 39, said: “It makes me sick to see she was there.”

Emily Morris, 35, also called Letby “sick” after seeing the picture, adding that it was “scary” which she also wrote in Alvin’s baptismal record.

She said: “Lucy Letby told us that Alvin got worse the night before he died.”

“He was dead in the morning, which is odd.” It’s like she was implying that she did something.

“Alvin was a happy little guy who was always smiling. I think she’s ill.’

Mrs. Morris first noticed Letby’s behavior towards Alvin, who had been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, during his baptism.

She said that during the baptism, Letby constantly tried to touch him and lean over him.

Alvin’s baptismal book also revealed a “crazy” message left by the serial killer: “To Alvin, with love on your special day.”

Speaking to the Mail about the diary notes, she said: “It’s crazy. ‘Looking at it makes you sick.’

Ms Morris continued: “I think she’s sick.” How could a human being do such a thing to a baby?

“I had triplets there.” [Countess of Chester Hospital] So I knew how the rooms work.

“He was in room 3, where you go when you’re about to go home.” So why was he there?

“And why was she with him the night before? The next day we woke up and went in and he was already dead. She had him the night before.

“We say it’s suspicious.” It’s weird. She must have done something.’

Commenting on her failure to appear at sentencing, Ms Morris said: “She should have appeared in court.”

According to the police, investigations are ongoing.

Speaking to the BBC, she said: “It shocked us.” It’s really hard to see someone do something like that to the babies next to you. it makes you sick

“You can see she’s grabbing his blanket.” I told everyone she did that and now there’s proof. This is proof that she was with him.’

Britain’s Department of Health and Social Care has ordered an independent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the deaths and how Letby carried out her killing spree.
