Raymundo Garduno and Paco Mufote died in an accident. Many of the colleagues want to launch an investigation to shed light on the working conditions
A tragedy. This ended the set of new Netflix series The Chosen One, which was put on hold following the deaths of two actors who died in a car accident. Raymundo Garduno Cruz and Juan Francisco Gonzalez Aguilar (known as Paco Mufote) were aboard a van that had overturned in an abandoned area where the set was being set up, according to local media reports. In addition to the two actors, six other people were injured. The actors’ friends immediately blamed the production of the series, based on Mark Millar’s cartoon “American Jesus,” according to reports from The Daily Best, claiming that the cast had already complained several times about the transportation and poor logistics.
Working conditions
Filming for the series began in April. Liliana Conlisk Gallegos, a friend of Mufote who has worked in the film industry for a long time, called for an investigation to be launched to shed light on the working conditions of actors and contributors on the production: “It pains me to think that he has to was forced to work in poor conditions,” he then commented. However, a spokesman for the production company should have already specified that the incident did not occur on set and that Netflix’s thoughts are directed to the families of the victims. Redrum, the company producing the series, immediately halted filming until some light was shed.
