The Russian flag is hoisted on the roof of the Avdiivka factory (Ukraine). Ukrainian soldiers set up their headquarters here. The latter fell and saw their enemies conquer the city. Russian soldiers placed their battalion's emblem on the community's Soviet war memorial. “We took prisoners and understood that the Kiev regime was sending its best soldiers here,” reveals a Russian soldier.
Entrenched soldiers
In recent days, Ukrainian soldiers from the Third Assault Brigade have been holed up in the basement of the factory. They tried to the last to recapture the Russian positions. A few hundred civilians are still in the destroyed city. “The withdrawal of the army was a decision to save as many lives as possible,” justified the President of Ukraine.
