In a close game, the Quebec Remparts lost 3-2 in overtime to the Shawinigan Cataractes at the Gervais Auto Center on Sunday.

Cataractes captain Alexis Bonefon gave his team the win at the start of extra time. The latter also scored the first goal of the game after a great game from Jordan Tourigny.

Nevertheless, Éric Veilleux's men were not discouraged by this success of the cataracts. In fact, forward Nathan Quinn equalized at the end of the second period, grabbing the puck in the neutral zone before getting around defenseman Noah McKinnon and sending the prized ball to the top of Félix Hamel.

Reece Peitzsche put the local favorites back in the lead 29 seconds later, but Daniel Agostino brought the Remparts back into the game and sent the two teams into overtime.

In the loss, Vincent Filion made 19 saves while Hamel stopped 28 shots.

The Remparts are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-29-4-0. On Tuesday they face the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
