The cold is back, so is the rain

The darkness will be in place this week due to a low pressure system that will bring precipitation and falling temperatures closer to seasonal norms.

Quebecers will therefore face quite a contrast in several sectors of the province with a mix of rain and snow, while between 15 and 25 millimeters of rain are expected in Outaouais and Montreal by Wednesday, or even more in Quebec’s North Shore.

“Today we expect between 10 and 15 millimeters in the greater Montreal area [de pluie] possibly up to twenty on the North Shore side,” André Cantin, meteorologist at Environment Canada, said Monday in an interview with QMI Agency.

Rain levels could be greater north of the river towards Mauricie and up to the north coast.

A rain warning has been issued specifically for Quebec, where we expect up to 25 millimeters on Monday.

“Flooding is possible in places in the lowlands,” reads Environment Canada’s website.

After a brief mid-week breather of alternating sun and clouds, a new system is expected to bring rain back to most parts of the province over the weekend.
