This Thursday (23rd), the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards announced the funniest wildlife photos of the year. There were more than 5,300 entries from 1,842 photographers from 85 countries.

The grand prize winner was Jason Moore with a photo that could now serve as an album cover for rock bands. The photo, titled “Air Guitar Roo,” shows a female western gray kangaroo showing off all her skills and technique by playing an imaginary guitar in the best style of Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page. The competition has been running since 2015 and was created by professional photographers Paul JoynsonHicks and Tom Sullam. The aim was to organize a fun and free photography competition that rewards really funny images of terrestrial fauna and in doing so raise awareness for environmental protection and support organizations and projects around the world.
