The commander of the Israeli military operation stated that Gaza would no longer be the same and that Hamas would be disbanded.

A UN school continues to house displaced civilians. Jinan, 14, was preparing sweets for her sister’s wedding when the bombing began and the family was forced to flee. She says an uncle who returned to the house eventually died.

Gaza hospitals are running low on fuel for generators; The region is under Israeli blockade. Israel’s energy minister has said the region will receive no water, electricity or fuel until Hamas releases all the hostages kidnapped in Saturday’s attacks.

In Israel, rockets fired by Hamas from Gaza again hit the city of Ashkelon.

The Israeli government contacted the families of 97 hostages, whose identities have already been confirmed. One of them is Noa, who appears in this video recorded by terrorists. She turns 26 this Saturday and the family posted on social media hoping the happy birthday wishes reach her.

Manager Iftach explains that volunteers use social media to ask people what they need and ask anyone who can donate. Drivers bring food to soldiers and civilians who have lost their homes. Jessa accepted donations and also bought a coffee to support the store.

“It’s important work, we need to support retailers like this who do so much for others,” she says.

There is no rationing in the markets, but some stores are limiting sales of some items to avoid shortages. Daniel explains that milk, for example, is limited to three liters per person.

In Israel the weekend is Friday and Saturday. So Thursday is the last day before the weekend. Normally the streets are full of people with bars and restaurants, but this Thursday (12) they are empty. Few people are starting to go out a little more, but still full of apprehension.
