The Cosby Show star Geoffrey Owens is “indescribably” proud of his son’s acting debut in the Netflix series Uncoupled.
Cosby Show graduate Geoffrey Owens couldn’t be more proud of his son Jordyn Owens after his big break in entertainment.
The 61-year-old actor, best known for playing Elvin Tibideaux on the hit 1980s sitcom for five seasons, walked the red carpet alongside Jordyn for the New York premiere of Netflix Uncoupled on Tuesday.
The romantic comedy series, in which the 23-year-old plays the character Trey, is his first acting role on screen.

“I’m incredibly proud,” said Geoffrey Page Six of his son’s achievement. ‘I’m speechless.’
Strutting out in front of the sea of fans and photographers, Jordyn looked strikingly handsome in a black suit with a matching top and boots.
His dad joined him for a few moments looking dapper in a black suit with a white button-down and brown shoes.
Geoffrey, who starred on The Cosby Show from 1985 to 1992, has more recently focused on theater acting and teaching Shakespeare.
But over the years, he said he’s tried to pass his acting experience and wisdom on to his son, both in terms of collaborating on his craft and the business as a whole.

And in recent years he has developed an unexpected career as a painter, which has led to his appearing on the Today Show to talk about his artwork.
“I’ve watched it over the years,” Geoffrey said of Jordyn’s star power and ability to turn heads. “I’ve been watching it for five or six years.”
Social media confession: The young actor announced on Instagram on Saturday, July 30 that he is “blessed” to have made his acting debut alongside “some of the best in the business”.

Uncoupled, the latest show from Sex and the City creator Darren Star and Emily in Paris, stars Harris as Michael, a newly single gay man who’s just emerged from a 17-year relationship and is entering a whole new era must learn how to date while grieving his unexpected breakup.
The first season of Uncoupled premiered on Netflix on July 29.
