The Dallas Cowboys owner gave the Republicans big money

Businessman Jerry Jones is the boss of the world’s most financially valuable sports franchise, which means he has the cash to spend, including when it comes to supporting Republican candidates in the election.

At least, the Dallas Morning News reported Thursday that the Dallas Cowboys owner donated $525,000 to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s campaign ahead of the Nov. 8 United States midterm election. He also reportedly spent $200,000 on Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and the same amount on Attorney General Ken Paxton.

However, his connections to these party figures carry the risk of making him look bad in public. Paxton is in fact the subject of an impeachment trial by the Texas legislature, including on charges of corruption.

Then Jones would have a Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, by his side. So he traveled on board the billionaire’s private jet and also received a Super Bowl ring, as the newspaper “New York Times” revealed. The source claims Thomas attended a Cowboys camp and ended up in the owner’s box while the club was playing a game in Washington. The two individuals are part of the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reminding young people that the “American Dream” is still accessible.

When contacted by Dallas media, Jones did not comment on the reports.
