“If you wear makeup and you know you have a cleanser that will completely remove your makeup, then that's great, but chances are you haven't met that cleanser yet, because I still have that cleanser “Didn’t get to know me.”

And last but not least, Dr. Idriss recommends cleaning your face when you wake up in the morning.

“Now before you attack me in the comments section, I'm not saying you shouldn't cleanse your face with water in the morning,” the dermatologist explained.

“But you don't need to use cleanser in the morning after cleansing your face at night.”

Dr. Idriss said that if you cleanse your skin in the morning, you may be stripping your skin of too many of its natural oils.

“Of course there are exceptions to this rule, but for most people this works great,” she said.

It's a rule she says her patients have enjoyed.

“And many of my own patients have told me that this particular tip has transformed their skin when they skip the AM cleanser,” the dermatologist said.
