The New Jersey Devils responded with five straight goals to secure a convincing 6-2 win over the Senators on Friday night in Ottawa.
Jack and Luke Hugues each had a goal and two assists in the win. The first tied the game in the first game, while the second put the final nail in the Sens' coffin at the end of the game.
Jesper Bratt also stood out with a goal and three assists. Just like Jack Hugues, he hit the target while his team was on the power play.
Dawson Mercer, Tyler Toffoli and Brendan Smith also joined the party, despite the efforts of goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo, who finished the game with 30 saves.
In the Senators' camp, Drake Batherson and Jacob Bernard-Dockeront vibrated the ropes behind goalkeeper Nico Daws. For Batherson, it was the fourth game in a row with at least one point.
The Senators will be back in action on Sunday night while the Buffalo Sabers will be in the state capital.
