The Dodgers will also have to pay more than $50 million in fees to his original team, the Orix Buffaloes.
This announcement comes just days after Shohei Ohtani's historic contract signing. So that means the Dodgers spent more than $1 billion to acquire the two Japanese players.
The 25-year-old Yamamoto has been considered Japan's best pitcher for several seasons. In 2023 he published spectacular statistics. His earned run average was just 1.16 in 171 innings.
