The double crew crowns their winning couple – Le Soleil

The big winners of the 17th season of the Occupation Double may have surprised more than one person.

Lara and Vincent were considered the show’s “untouchable” couple for the past three months, ultimately losing out to Simon, a marketing consultant from Sainte-Thérèse, and Mia, a social work student from Trois-Rivières. A duo that we only see blossom in the final episodes.

However, in recent days, several viewers have been actively campaigning for her on social networks. A movement created in part to combat the elimination of favorite couple Marie-Andrée and Anthony that took place last week.

The two finalist couples Lara and Vincent and Rebecca and Mathieu sat at the consultation table and decided to say goodbye to the nurse from Saguenay and the carpenter from Lévis. A decision that did not reach the public like a letter in the mail… which in turn certainly experienced a little “delirium”.

Live on Sunday evening, Mia and Simon seemed very surprised to be chosen as the big winners of OD Andalusia.

“We have an atypical journey. We took our time, but what we experienced was really authentic. “We are together and we love each other,” the 28-year-old candidate finally whispered, completely speechless, next to his young partner.

Mathieu and Rebecca, Mia and Simon and Vincent and Lara were the three finalist couples this season.

Cards on the table

With their feet in the sand of the Maldives, Alicia Moffet and Frédérick Robichaud opened the grand finale of the Occupation Double.

Although the show was similar to the season, it was still peppered with some spice.

The traditional game “Who said what?” It caused great unrest, especially on the small island in the Indian Ocean… Despite the smiles and muffled laughter of some of the finalists.

During the final group dinner, the hosts returned to some of these excerpts, in which the contestants didn’t shy away from talking about their fellow housemates.

“I didn’t make the decision easy when it came to choosing the final pair,” Lara repeated, supported by her companion.

When questioned by Alicia, the duo explained that they did not feel threatened by Marie-Andrée and Anthony. “Out of affinity,” they decided to take Mia and Simon with them on their last journey, Vincent briefly recalled.

“We don’t think about the public when we make our decisions. We don’t think about which couple is liked and which is not. […] We base our decisions on almost nothing,” Rebecca said.

Despite some evasive answers, the friendly host couple still asked good questions of the contestants in this grand finale and posed questions that many people had at home.

Paradise landscapes

House on stilts, villa or luxurious tent in the jungle, diving, lunch in the swimming pool: the last trip of OD Andalousie made us forget the winter in Quebec for 90 minutes.

The first part of the evening, filmed in the Maldives, allowed viewers to see more of the dynamics between each couple.

“I didn’t expect the relationship [avec Mia] develops like this in week 2 or 3. […] “We have temperaments that go really well together,” Simon said during the show after an almost romantic fishing trip.

Back in Quebec, Alicia Moffet and Frédérick Robichaud tackled their segment live without too many problems. Solid, the singer and the former OD contestant have visibly gained traction since their first-ever red carpet appearance last September.

“Your hosting duo and couple have truly touched the hearts of OD fans this year,” said Julie Snyder.

Céline won the prize as favorite candidate.

The show’s producer was on set to present the award for favorite contestant, which was presented to Céline without much surprise. The Moncton nurse won a $10,000 scholarship that will “maybe allow her to fund it [son] Moving to Quebec.
