The Ducks strike back against the Senators

After being defeated by the Montreal Canadiens two days earlier, the Anaheim Ducks bounced back by dominating the Ottawa Senators 5-1 on Thursday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Cam Fowler and Frank Vatrano each had a goal and two assists, while Mason McTavish scored two goals. It was the fifth time in his young career that the third overall pick in the 2021 draft achieved a double in the National League.

The Ducks' other scorer was Pavel Mintyukov, while Claude Giroux was the only Sens player to put the puck in the net.

However, this victory was not perfect for the Californian club as goalkeeper John Gibson suffered an upper body injury. He was perfect on the 15 shots he received before getting injured. Lukas Dostal came to the rescue and stopped 17 pucks.

The Ducks will continue their tour of Canada this Saturday, taking on the Maple Leafs in Toronto. The Senators, whose winning streak ended at four, will return to action the same day against the Blackhawks in Chicago.

A 45-save shutout

In Buffalo, Florida Panthers goaltender Anthony Stolarz was perfect on all 45 of the Sabres' shots and his team won 4-0.

It was the seventh shutout of the 30-year-old masked man's career.

Carter Verhaeghe (twice), Anton Lundell and Ryan Lomberg were the goal scorers in this duel. It was the fourth win in a row for the team from Florida.

Beniers takes care of the Bruins

In Boston, Seattle Kraken forward Matthew Beniers scored three points in a 4-1 win over the Bruins.

The 21-year-old scored one goal and provided two assists. Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann and Eeli Tolvanen were the other representatives of the winners who put the puck behind the back of goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

David Pastrnak was the lone scorer for the team, which has now lost its last three games.
