The emigration of families from El Salvador to the USA is increasing

The figures cited by the newspaper El Mundo indicate that from June the registration of Salvadoran families began to increase.

CBP said it found 72,733 families at the border trying to enter the United States irregularly in June, but the number rose to 136,674 in August.

US authorities forecast that there were more than 141,000 at the end of the 2023 financial year, but a rebound began from July 2023, rising from 4,068 to 7,747 in September, although the government here claims that there are a decline in immigrants and that more and more Salvadorans want to return to the country.

According to El Mundo, this change in the flow of migrants was confirmed by the head of the Border Patrol for the Rio Grande Valley sector, Gloria Chávez, who last week confirmed the increase in families entering the United States irregularly.

“Last year it was adults we were holding, grown men, women and not so many families. “When Title 42 was repealed, adult migration was significantly reduced and the number of families here began to increase,” Chávez told a press conference for Central American journalists.
