The move will take place on March 27, according to Corus Entertainment, the group that manages TÉLÉTOON.
The company claims that this transition will allow it to offer a larger catalog of cartoons. TELETOON’s programming will be retained and added to Cartoon Network’s.
The existing Cartoon Network channel in Canada will become Boomerang. It will offer retro content with classic animations such as Tom and Jerry, The Powerpuff Girls or Jellystone.
Corus Entertainment recently launched TELETOON+, a service available on multiple streaming platforms.
The TELETOON channel broadcast several cult shows such as Totally Spies, 6Teen, Johnny Test and L’Île des Défis Extremes.
