Enough of disgusting social media posts that do not condemn – or even celebrate – the murder of at least 1,200 Israelis by Hamas terrorists.
Anyone who wanted to know more about the deadliest attack in Israel’s history on social media like “X” (formerly Twitter) or Facebook in recent days sooner or later encountered disturbing posts.
Hamas propaganda videos were shared, some of them without condemnation, which, among other things, showed horrific scenes of tortured hostages and revealed the suffering of the victims. Filters designed to prevent bloody violence from being uploaded, shared thousands of times and applauded by terrorist sympathizers have apparently failed.

“Heavy fines” for inaction
According to the largest group (PPE, Christian Democrats) in the EU Parliament, this should now be an end. His boss, CSU deputy Manfred Weber (51), told BILD:
“Hamas’ glorification of terror is unbearable. The EU must act more quickly and decisively against Hamas propaganda on social media. I hope that the responsible authorities in the EU and EU states will immediately intervene with the operators of social media platforms due to terrorist content and impose heavy fines if they do not act.”
In this case, Brussels should avoid the usual EU discussion process and instead act immediately to put pressure on those responsible. Weber: “Online incitement of Hamas must be stopped. Messrs. Musk and Zuckerberg must finally take responsibility.”

European Commission: Musk spreads “illegal content”
The European Commission is already taking the first steps. She warned operator “X” Elon Musk for “spreading illegal content” and “false information” on his online service.
“Following the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, we have evidence that your platform is being used to spread illegal content and disinformation in the EU,” EU Digital Commissioner Thierry Breton wrote to Musk.
Background: The US billionaire has made a series of controversial decisions since taking over the platform. This includes restoring accounts that spread conspiracy myths.
