At the end of September this year, a new clip from “The Exorcist: The Believer” was released that terrified everyone. But reviews of the sequel to William Friedkin’s film don’t seem to be on the same page. Let’s see why.
“Almost, not very scary, soulless”: these are the adjectives attributed to the sequel. This doesn’t seem to have convinced the critics at Rotten Tomatoes, who awarded it an initial score of 24%.
This score, which is increasing, albeit slightly, is significantly lower than that of the “predecessors”. Currently the number is Ratings rose to 67while the score increased by 1%.
We bring you some of them hottest reviews:
Top Rotten Tomatoes critic William Bibbiani writes: “It’s not ambitious enough to be interesting. still strong enough to get to the heart of the matter. It avoids serious discussions of faith and uses the series’ underlying depth as the basis for little more than fan service and generic plotting.”
Another top critic, Michael O’Sullivan, comments: “If ‘The Exorcist: The Believer’ is all about spiritual (or at least cinematic) devotion to faith, then it has failed to match the power of the first film.” who did the same thing.” the most cynical spectators fanatically, it borders on sacrilege“.
Of course, not all reviews of the sequel are negative, but the latest trend seems to be this.
