“Duel in the Sun”
7:50 p.m., TCM
Duel in the sun. USA, 1946 (138 minutes). Director: King Vidor. Cast: Jennifer Jones, Gregory Peck, Joseph Cotten.
The feverish images of the great King Vidor form a fiery, feverish, unleashed Western that moves, shaken by the highs and lows of love and death. “Duel in the Sun” explodes like a melodrama of enchanting lyricism, in an explosion of colors and emotions created through the gaze of an iconoclastic and rebellious author.
“Taxi Tehran”
20.20, Movistar Indie
Iran, 2015 (82 minutes). Director: Jafar Panahi. Actor: Jafar Panahi.
It's hard not to love a filmmaker who is able to, under house arrest, “This is not a film in which he narrates out loud the work he wasn't allowed to make.” Or capable of retelling the plot of “The Mirror.” ” to literally stop to show his child actress’ refusal to continue working, thus turning her film into a documentary. Panahi's films are banned in Iran, but he can still film a marvel like “Taxi Tehran”, transformed into a driver who listens to his passengers' ideas, with which he paints a picture of Iranian society through the fusion of fiction and reality speaks.
Farewell to the series “Christ and the King”
10:45 p.m., antenna 3
The final episode of the series Cristo y Rey, created by Daniel Écija, deals with the outcome of the couple's relationship between Ángel Cristo and Bárbara Rey. A legal and media war will break out between the owners, putting custody of their children at risk. The tamer will have no hesitation in accusing her of being a bad mother and an unfaithful wife, and the artist will above all have to fight against the prejudices against her.
'Quantum of Solace'
10.50 p.m., 1
UK-USA 2008 (102 minutes). Director: Marc Foster. Actors: Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric.
The second part of the adventures of 007, played by Daniel Craig, continues part of the plot of the previous Casino Royale and sends Bond on a quest for revenge after the death of his beloved Vesper. The action sequences, solid and supported by impeccable editing, are the hallmark of Quantum of Solace, with Craig embracing the character with remarkable energy.
