Many drivers were surprised and tried their luck with summer tires because they had not yet had the opportunity to prepare their vehicle for winter. Several drivers had to contend with winter driving difficulties this morning.

It has been snowing since early this morning, creating slippery and dangerous driving conditions on the roads of the Drummondville MRC. Many drivers and vehicles skidded on the slippery road. Drivers tried to slow down and be careful, but some were involved in minor collisions. Police, paramedics and firefighters had to intervene to deal with the few exits, which so far have only resulted in collisions and minor accidents, such as the 9th row in Wickham. In fact, the number of road trips increased, but the Sûreté du Québec reported no major accidents, only minor injuries in some collisions and road trips.

It is certain that the workshops will be stormed because of the flat tire, because winter is showing us its harshness and its rather surprising effects this morning!

It is also important to clear your vehicle, including your headlights, before driving to ensure you are clearly visible. Before you hit the road, it’s important to make sure you have the right tires.

Of course, this first snowfall reminds all drivers and motorists of the importance of preparing their vehicles for the harsh winter weather. The Sûreté du Québec recommends drivers not to use summer tires on the road and to drive carefully in winter, slow down and maintain a sufficient safe distance to avoid accidents on snowy roads.

A winter that seems to be getting lively for ski and snowboard enthusiasts!

Sporteque Drummondville, which already offers skis, snowboards, winter coats and boots in addition to sharpening your skis and snowboards, will certainly be ready to welcome its customers for the winter season, reminding us that winter fun is ahead!
