Shark attack (Photo: Playback/Twitter)
Imagine the desperation! Last Friday (23), a fisherman was bitten by a shark and dragged into the water in Everglades National Park, Florida. Fortunately, he managed to save himself, but video of the attack reverberated around the internet.
The incident happened while the man, identified only as Nick, was out fishing with other colleagues. At one point, he sticks his hand in the water and gets a big bite from the predator, which even pulls him out of the boat. The person who took the picture quickly drops the phone and starts yelling, “Pull it back!” Regard:

After the scare, the victim was treated by Miami Dade firefighters and taken to a hospital. Allyson Gantt, communications chief for Everglades National Park, told ABC that the fishing spot is a shallow lagoon in the south of the state. The area is popular as the lagoon’s fresh water meets the salt water of the Gulf of Mexico.
Gantt went on to explain that the animal that attacked Nick must have been a bull shark known to swim in both bodies of water. However, he stressed that such attacks are considered “extremely unusual”.
The account that posted video of the attack also shared the testimony of Michael Russo, who was on the boat at the time of the scare. “Today was one of the scariest days I’ve ever had on the water. It started great and we caught the fish but the sharks ate some despite our best efforts. After releasing a perch, Nick washed his hands in the water and was immediately bitten by a large shark. There were no fish or blood in the water, and the sharks were not provoked,” he wrote.
He concluded with a warning: “Sharks are no joke in the Everglades and the warnings to keep your hands out of the water are not an exaggeration. Please take this as a lesson and keep your hands out of the water as this could have been avoided. He was returned to the dock and the Park Rangers were (quite literally) a lifesaver. He was flown to the hospital and is receiving the best possible care.”
