Despite the state of coma experienced by the show due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dominican Republic has re-emerged through the hands of powerful agents currently dominating the world of entertainment.
At other times, names like César Suárez or Luis Medrano stood out in big productions, especially big shows.
They are the oldest and still active, but recently other entrepreneurs have emerged, with artistic presentations at the Olympia and Quisqueya stadiums, the Eduardo Brito National Theater, the Sports Palace of Santo Domingo, Altos de Chavón and the Hard Rock Hotel and Relais Casino.
Names like Saymon Díaz, Gamal Haché, César Suarez Jr., in concert production; Zumaya Cordero in the cinema and Santiago Matías (Alofoke) In the urban world, they keep the Dominican scene moving in different areas.
The year 2022 began with an avalanche of shows and presentations by these producers, who capture the attention of the concert audience with striking proposals.
Circo de Soleil, Karol G, Juan Luis Guerra, Coldplay, Alejandro Sanz, Joan Manuel Serrat, Emmanuel, Carlos Vives and others have taken to the Dominican stages this year.
The Dominican Republic has a billboard that is rarely seen, with world-class artists performing to packed houses on the various stages set aside for these events.
“The artists were hungry and thirsty to get on stage and the audience to enjoy them and we to produce events because we hadn’t worked for two years,” artistic entrepreneur Saymon Díaz told Listín Diario earlier this year . And that reflects in people’s excitement every time a new show is announced.
There’s more for the rest of the year: missing El Alfa, “Legend of Dembow”, July 16 at the Olympic Stadium; the Spanish artist Rosalía will set foot on the stones of Altos de Chavón on September 3; Bad Bunny will have two performances at Santo Domingo’s Olympic Stadium on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd October.
Saymon Díaz was under his care some of the most important presentations made in the country over the last year, including Cirque du Soleil’s “Kooza” with 70 performances from January 7th to April 10th.
Previously, in December, he was responsible for bringing together the country’s Aventura group, which performed to full houses on two consecutive nights at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium.
Saymon also presented Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra with his proposal “Between the Sea and Palm Trees” for a month at Hard Rock Punta Cana.
He was also responsible for bringing British band Coldplay to the Olympic Stadium, a milestone in the history of entertainment in the Dominican Republic. Alejandro Sanz, Myke Towers, Alejandro Fernández and others also appear on his billboard. The show of the urban exponent El Alfa is coming up.
Another great in production is Gamal Haché. The businessman was in charge of making Altos de Chavón vibrate with Rauw Alejandro, Karol G and Soda Stereo.

While the film industry has not stopped working and several products “made in the DR” with the seal of Zumaya Cordero, general director of Caribbean Cinemas and film producer, have hit the big screen.
Cordero has become the most powerful woman in local entertainment.
After emigrating and returning to her country to work, she is the producer of several films that have brought together great stars in cinema.
The director of the Fine Arts Film Festival is the producer of the films Qué León and Los Leones, both starring Ozuna, Clarissa Molina, Raymond Pozo, Miguel Céspedes and others, which are airing on Netflix.
He also produced the biopic The Lives of Kings about Raymond and Miguel; “Líos de familia”, an exclusive Dominican series for the Pantaya platform.
So did the film that brought together more than a dozen important local and international personalities: Flow Calle.
Zumaya and his team are in charge of producing the film about the life of the artist of Puerto Rican and Dominican origin Ozuna, whose name is “Odisea”.
His latest project is the new film Teacher Mechy, a comedy starring Francisca and Cheddy García. The latter is also the screenwriter.
Cordero has not only dedicated himself to cinema, however, he was responsible for the executive production of the most important Dominican entertainment event: Sovereign Awards at the Hotel Jaragua for the past year. Added to this was the foray into radio production when the company Caribbean Media World supported the speaker Brea Frank in his project “La Universidad de la Calle” (UCA) through the station EXA 96.9 FM,

The producer and influencer Santiago Matias “Alofoke” has created a marketplace for digital communication and entertainment.
Their platforms are an important part of the history of the urban genre in the Dominican Republic and are already transcending other broader sectors.
Last year, Matías further solidified his platform after teaming up with Ozuna to acquire the station Sonido Suave, now Alofoke FM.
The businessman adds millions of subscribers to his YouTube channels, which are popular with young people and the urban world.
Matías has participated in important events related to the urban music process in the country. He has also led tours for various artists.
There are other names like Eduardo Durán, which also belong to the world of entertainment and move many people. His company ED Live presents Puerto Rican reggaeton musicians Wisin and Yandel on July 9th at Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium on their farewell tour that will conclude more than 20 years of music.
