The day after an offensive duel against the Rochester Americans that ended in setback, the Laval Rocket lost 5-0 to the Syracuse Crunch at Upstate Medical University Arena.
The majority of the game took place within a minute and 12 seconds of the first period. Joël Bouchard’s players scored twice in this short sequence and never looked back. Mitchell Chaffee and Declan Carlile added two goals in the second half of the game. These two goals also came in the power play.

Crunch goalie Pyotr Kochetkov had an easy time of it, stopping all 19 shots aimed at him. On the Rocket side, Logan Mailloux tried to drive the offense by sending seven shots on net. Only six skaters from the Laval club managed to reach the finish.
Thirteen different Crunch players scored at least one point. Felix Robert and Chaffee both finished their night of work with a goal and an assist.
In goal, Strauss Mann did what he could, even if he failed five times in his 27 shots.
Jean-François Houle’s men have managed just one win in seven games and sit bottom of the North Group. They will face the Utica Comets on Wednesday at Place Bell.
