The US judiciary blocked, at least temporarily, a new Florida law designed to prevent transgender minors from receiving hormone blockers.

The decision was made this Tuesday (6).

Judge Robert Hinkle, who signed the ruling, said gender identity is real and that the Florida government has no rational basis for denying treatment to transgender minors.

“The elephant in the room must be recognized early. Gender identity is real. The records make that clear,” Hinkle said.

The decision is a kind of precautionary measure in a specific case where three transgender children were asked to continue treatment with hormone blockers.
